I’ve mentioned before that I am a nervous flyer. Which doesn’t bode well with my love of travel. You could say that I don’t really love to travel, I just love to arrive. 🙂
I was comforted before my flight with some chips and guacamole at Frontera in O’Hare International Airport. I like to eat a little something because you never know what you are going to get on a plane and when. This was step one of my distractions.
I was traveling on Virgin Atlantic Airlines, which is one of my favorite Airlines out there. This was their coach seat goody bag. I was thrilled with the actual headphones instead of those earbuds that hurt my tiny ears.
Looking out the window is always a good distraction as well. I got this great shot of London, where we had a short layover. Can you see the London Eye?
This was my breakfast on the plane. Quite satisfying! And I love the little good morning sticker and all the fun writing on the box and coffee cup. Those little things matter to me.
As much as eating is a good distraction, you can’t do that the entire 9 hour flight. So I watched a lot of movies and played Who Wants To Be A Millionaire. It was quite fun and helped me pass the time rather quickly. I also wanted to show you all the plugs they offered.
Before you knew it, we had arrived in Barcelona, ready to see it all. Even though flying makes me a little nervous, it is so worth it in the end to discover so many amazing places around the world that I wouldn’t get to see otherwise. I really like Virgin Atlantic airlines. I would travel with them anytime. What is your favorite airline? Or your most hated airline? Why?

I haven't commented for ages so thought I would pop over and see how you are. Barcelona! Fabulous! I remember that view very well,
We mainly do short haul in Europe and have never had many problems with the budget airlines despite others complaining. Of course, now I have said that, I've jinxed it, haven't I…

Good to hear from you, Trish! I've missed you! 🙂

Hi Sonja,
I love flying! I've never had a really bad experience on a plane. Now, my husband is a white-knuckle flyer, and so our flying days are over. But we did go twice to Europe. London was my very favorite place.
I envy you.
Thanks for sharing your blue today.
Happy Blue Monday!

I do ok flying if my hubby is at my side! Once on a flight back from Las Vegas, we hit terrible turbulence! I was with some gals from Princess House, as we were at a convention! I was separated from my flying buddy and sat next to the nicest young man. His dad was a pilot and he was flying free (long time ago) and he and I held hands and prayed together! It was a good experience. I was blessed to have such a good seat buddy next to me! I want to fly internationally and I am hopeful we can go to Ireland as a phamily someday soon. But for now we will head to Vegas again in August for Nick's 21st birthday and God willing, my sweet hubby will be with me, side by side! Love all the beautiful photos you shared. I know your Blue Monday was beautiful! Hope to see you soon. Have a great week!

How nice to be sitting next to someone like that on the plane. 🙂

Hi Sonja! I'm a nervous flyer as well! My husband and I traveled to Israel and then to Uganda and then back home (Oregon). We were go 16 days and 3 days of that was in the air!!! YUCK! I wouldn't recommend traveling like that to anyone! But loved visiting these two countries! I would love to visit Britain. I've seen Belgium as well and it is beautiful!
Thanks for sharing the lovely photos of your trip. Happy Blue Monday!

Hi Sonja! I would like to apologize for the late visit. Work has been occupying me lately. It's only now when I can at least breathe 😉 Let me thank you for linking up in my past Sunday series. Seeing new blogs linked and discovering new people in the blogosphere never fails to make me happy.
I enjoyed the post you made. I was very interested looking at each picture. I also love traveling but the cost of doing it never fails to hinder me. My target is to visit another country every year. This year however, I have to set it aside for financial considerations. For now, I'm enjoying bloggers and friends sharing their own experiences.
I love the nachos and how I wish we had it even in our domestic flights. Waffles are my favorite too! Yes I can see the London's eye from your photo. You had a perfect capture in Barcelona. The photo deserves a feature in a magazine spread.
Wishing you a great week ahead Sonja!
