I love wine and I love food, so I assumed I would love Cooper’s Hawk Winery and Restaurant…and I did! They had me at wine flight!
I love how they serve it labeled with what each one is. This particular day I was feeling more sweet. I liked all of them, but the peach wine was a little too much. It would be great made into a refreshing cooler this summer by adding some lemon-lime soda and fruit, but too sweet for me all by itself. I loved the almond sparkling, which I had never heard of before. Fun find!
This wine flight was more dry and no, I did not have these on the same day! This was from a different visit to Cooper’s Hawk! 😉 Notice, I got the almond sparkling again. But everything else was different. I love trying new things and wine flights (or any drink flight) is a great way to do that. Check out the first wine on my flight, the Barrel Reserve. Below is a video of how they serve this.
When you walk into Cooper’s Hawk, it is like a wine store with tastings, food pairings and a fun store.
They have a delicious chocolate display with truffles and chocolate covered strawberries…YUM! And these cute shirts and hats, along with many other wine inspired products.
But the wine isn’t the only great part of Cooper’s Hawk. They have excellent food as well. The extensive menu has a regular section where they don’t list the calories and then a “life balance” section where they do. The BIN # refers to the wine section of the menu and what wine would pair well with that food item. I put big red stars next to the food I ordered.
This salad was delicious with the perfect pairing of savory and sweet with the fruit and blue cheese/walnut combination. And I love how colorful the dressing is!
These sea scallops really were jumbo and cooked perfectly. I wanted more! I also loved the sweet grape tomato relish. Sadly, the cauliflower was way to hard and undercooked for my liking. But everything else made up for that big time! And only 380 calories!!!
My husband had the basic house salad (his usual) and he also tried scallops. However, his scallops were wrapped in bacon and were not on the life balance menu. They were delicious though.
As usual, we couldn’t pass up a chocolate dessert. It fulfilled our craving for chocolate, but the cream anglaise (that little puddle at the tip of the cake) was an unexpected surprise of amazingness! So fantastic!
I have been to Cooper’s Hawk several times and I have never been disappointed. Check it out if you have one in your area. Also check out what others are eating at Peasandcrayons.com and FoodieTuesday and WanderFoodWednesday. Happy eating!

The words "wine flight" usually get me, too. The food at Coopers looks amazing. I would have been satisfied with the salad until I saw the scallops. Yum!
